Dear Friends and Families of Los Ranchos,
Digital Citizenship is an important topic for students and parents. Brandy Swain from our San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office gave an informative presentation to our 5th and 6th graders this last week. Mrs. Swain discussed a number of relevant topics including: cyber-bullying, parents’ permission to have an account, followers on social media and issues around privacy, to name just a few. She will be presenting again for parents this Tuesday, November 14 from 6 - 7:00 in the multipurpose room. Childcare will be offered for free. Please email cbruce@slcusd.org if you will be using the childcare. Our PTA meeting will follow at 7:00.
Our school district is focused on forward planning with technology. If you have not had a chance to fill out the technology survey, please do at http://www.bbyt.es/QY3ZP. The information will help Los Ranchos, the middle schools and high schools. Your responses will shape plans for the future.
We look forward to seeing all of you at Parent Conferences next week!
Have a great three day weekend.
Sincerely,
Marlie Schmidt
