Principal’s Message

Dear Friends and Families of Los Ranchos,
What an eventful week we have had! It started with the water getting shut off, but it only went up from there. We had a wonderful STEAM Night on Thursday. Cal Poly students helped us to puzzle over electrical currents, building towers, problem solving (with many constraints thrown in for an extra challenge) and much more. We look forward to this being an annual event. I want to thank our LR STEAM Team: Maija Beaudion, Chris Becker, Reilly Wagner and Chelsea Smiley. A special thanks to Summer Reeves for leading the team and to all the families who came out for the event.
The 10th Annual Paul Reinhardt Bike Parade was also a huge success. Students came in fun costumes and colorfully decorated bikes. They were cheered by a supportive crowd of parents and schoolmates! A special thanks goes to Cambria Bicycle Outfitter and Foothill Cyclery for being here bright and early to make sure everyone’s bike was in tip-top condition! A special thanks to Tony Evans and Paul Reinhardt, whose passion for bike riding keeps this tradition alive!
The best parts of the week, however, were the daily treats and surprises from our parents and students for Staff Appreciation Week. We were all overwhelmed with the goodies, the cards, the flowers and thoughtfulness. We close the week feeling very appreciated and very fortunate to work with such an amazing community of students and parents.

Have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Marlie Schmidt
